Qualification Overview

The qualification has been created to develop learners’ understanding of policy, management theory and practice in education. It provides learners with an opportunity to engage with the challenges facing professionals and policy makers and will provide knowledge that underpins the ability to work as an effective manager in the education sector. The qualification also combines both theoretical and practical knowledge in the education profession and will develop and enhance knowledge and skills in the areas of leading change, effective performance and team leadership. Learners will be able to work in a variety of roles within education administration and/or management.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this qualification, learners will be able to:

• Lead and manage educational change initiatives effectively
• Evaluate and improve teaching and learning practices

• Analyse and apply problem-solving strategies specific to the education sector

Entry Requirements

• A Level 6 qualification (e.g.a bachelor’s degree), or
• A First Degree in a relevant field
• Applicants without formal qualifications may be considered based on professional experience and subject to an interview and assessment of their capacity to complete the programme.

Developing essential management skills through following modules:

Progression Routes

• Progress to a university partner to complete a dissertation to then receive a MSc in Educational Management and Leadership; the QUALIFI Level 8 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership; or directly into employment in an associated profession.
