Program Overview
The Foundation Diploma in Education and Training Studies aims to build learners’ understanding of both theory and practice in the field of education. This qualification offers an opportunity to engage with the current issues and challenges faced by education professionals in their own country. It equips learners with the knowledge and skills necessary to become effective practitioners in the education sector, emphasizing a blend of theoretical insights and practical applications.

Entry Requirements
BGS Level 3 qualifications can be offered to learners from age 16. BGS does not specify entry requirements for these qualifications. BGS ensures that learners admitted to the programme have sufficient capability at the right level to undertake the learning and assessment criteria.
BGS Centres must ensure learners are recruited with integrity onto appropriate qualifications that will meet their needs, enable and facilitate learning and achievement enable progression. The qualification is offered in English.

The BGS Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Education and Training Studies qualification consists of 6 mandatory units for a combined total of 120 credits, 1200 hours Total Qualification Time (TQT) and 480 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for the completed qualification.
The qualification is designed to be delivered over 12 months for full-time study, but it is also flexible in its delivery in order to accommodate part-time and distance learning. The qualification is delivered face-to-face, through lectures, tutorials, seminars, distance, online by approved centres only.
Successful completion of BGS Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Education and Training Studies qualification provides learners with the opportunity for academic progressions to a wide range of undergraduate programmes including BGS Level 4 diplomas.
